I am trying to limit my computer time (unless it is for looking for work or looking up some useful information) to less than 2 hours per day because I think I am verging on having a internet addiction, which is bad. At least I'm not looking at porn and shit, but I should be outside reading or taking a walk or something else.
What else? I've been having twingy/twangy little pains in my left leg and when I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago she said that I have some varicose veins underneath my skin that don't show on the surface yet. Reminds me of mom and grandma. They had major problems with varicose veins in their legs and even had them removed at some point. I hope this is the most painful they get. It isn't bad, just weird feeling. I had also been having weird left-sided chest achiness and shortness of breath and so my doctor gave me a breath test and once again it has been confirmed that I suffer from very mild asthma, which SUCKS! At least I don't need to use an inhaler or anything, though. I am trying to drink "breathe easy" tea which supports lung health to see if that helps me. Seems to be a little better currently.
I want to try out being a caregiver. I applied at a reputable place in Eugene called "Homeinstead"...We had sort of a group interview and they are still checking references and doing background checks, etc. The lady (who is SO nice and very cool) in charge of doing the hiring said that they normally don't hire people that don't have a car (or rely on the bus for transportation) but that she has a great feeling about me (and was impressed with me..WOOT!)
and is going to see if they can make an exception for me. I'd really think I'd enjoy going into homes of the elderly and helping them with light tasks (cooking, laundry, light housekeeping) and to give them some company (which is what they need most of all, is what I hear)...The pay is bad but I don't care because it would be fulfilling. I am through with mind-numbing office work. I bet I would hear a lot of cool stories about these seniors' lives and I'd love that! Wish me luck! I should know by the end of the week!
Ok...I am GOING OUTSIDE and soaking up the sunshine.
I am currently reading "Jaywalking with the Irish" which is about a man who moved his family from Connecticut to Co. Cork, in Ireland because they were tired of their American lives. It is a humorous book and pretty relevant because lately Larry and I have been fantasizing about possibly moving to Ireland at some point in our lives because we really loved visiting.
